It looks like we will be building a new facility in 2022! – with your help, that is. Before the pandemic, an extensive feasibility study revealed we not only should but could replace our problem building housing youth, the gym, Room in the Inn, classes and more. Structural issues and mold have now closed that building permanently.

We have exciting plans to replace it with something that will serve our people and our ministry and mission for decades to come, and will stand as a witness to our city and world that There is a God, This church is alive and growing, There is hope. Our Building Committee, chaired by Rick Magee, has been working with our architect, WGM, on an exciting multi-use space for everyone in our church family – more information on the following pages! – this building will be fabulous.

At the outset, our people insisted we have a beyond-our-walls component. We have made two huge pledges, one to build 39 Habitat homes on the west side of town, another to complete 21 apartments for those who’ve experienced homelessness and still face challenges. And we’ll soon have another project to address the affordable housing crisis.

The quiet phase of our Hope is Here capital campaign has gone very well. However, to reach our goal of $35 million we need everyone in our church family to participate.

That’s where you come in. We are asking each person to make a prayerful commitment, over five years, to make this dream a reality. We hope every

person will make the largest gift they’ve ever made to this, the kind of gift that makes you swallow hard – as that’s when you feel the joy, since it’s for God, and for future generations. Generosity, sharing, stretching: together we can do this!

With hope,
James

“Lord, all of our good comes from you. All that we have is yours. You have called us, together as your church, to build, to be a witness to the world. We will be generous, and full of joy, as we invest in your future, so our city and generations to come will see and trust there is a God, that there is a vital church in this place, and that Hope Is Here.”

Amen.
